Hana ir jos šeima išgalvota, bet tuo laikotarpiu Londone ir kitur Europoje gyveno savo tikėjimą slėpusių žydų šeimų. Esu skolinga Ceciliui Rothui už jaudinančią istoriją; be to, kino filmų kūrėjai bei direktorei Naomi Gryn, leidusiai man įsigilinti į pavojingus jų gyvenimus. Dauguma šio romanų veikėjų yra tikri, aprašyti šiame romane pagal istorinius duomenis, kaip juos supratau.
